Carol Lim and Humberto Leon founded New York-based Opening Ceremony in 2002, with a unique concept in mind. Inspired by the Olympics, each season a selection of country-specific labels and designers are invited into the store to ‘compete’ and the most successful brands win a permanent place in the store. Exclusives and limited edition products also sit alongside Opening Ceremony’s own footwear and clothing range.
